THINK QUICK with Lynne Marie

Hi Lynne Marrie!  You and I  been on the Cybil's award judging panel together for several years.  You do such an incredible job with your characters in all of your books! When I saw your clever new release, MOLDILOCKS and the THREE SCARES; A ZOMBIE TALE,  I knew I wanted to do a THINK QUICK interview with her!  You manage to interweave clever wordplay, monsters and adoption in a powerful way with this book. All of the THINK QUICK themes below appear in your book.  Let’s see which way you lean.  Remember, THINK QUICK!

On Goldi-locks and the Three Bears:
Love it or Leave it?

LOVE.
I’ve written two other fractures based on this tale and many others based on other tales. It’s fun and challenging to fracture fairy tales and put them back together.

On fractured Fairy tales:
Can't get enough or Enough already?

NEVER ENOUGH.

On borrowing other people's things:
Disastrous or Helpful?

DISASTROUS!

On soup:
Hot, cold or just right?

JUST RIGHT.
Although I must admit I have enjoyed some really tasty cold fruit soups on cruises. Watermelon soup, anyone?

On midnight snacks:
Always or never?

NEVER.

On monsters:
Scary or cute?

CUTE. Definitely.

On family:
Created by blood or created by love?

LOVE.
I am adopted, so I truly know the answer to this question.

On adoption:
Daunting or Exciting?

BOTH, AT FIRST BUT THEN, CHALLENGING, AND REWARDING.
And I say that looking at adoption from several angles.

On puns:
Funny or Overdone?

FUNNY.
You know the saying - what was it -- you can never be too rich, too thin or use too many puns. Yes, that was it.

On breaking the rules:
Always or rarely?

HALF ‘N HALF.
I am a big fan of structure AND of breaking the rules. If it works, it works. I guess you can try to break the rules, and if it doesn’t work, structure is your superhero.

On books:
MOLDILOCKS and the THREE SCARES or MOLDILOCKS and the THREE SCARES?

Well,  it’s a good thing I don’t have to choose. Choosing between your books is like choosing between your kids. You love them each differently, but love them all, just the same. If that makes sense!

Thank you, Lynne!  I hope you have a monstrously great October!
