Reading for Research, here we come!
Registration for the 2021 Reading for Research Challenge is still open! We start learning from our presenters on Monday, March 1st!
Want to get the most out of your experience? Here are a few tips.
1. Max out your library card, by putting the mentor texts from the booklist on hold. If you can't find a book, refer to our research tools for ideas.
2. Read the posts daily, along with the recommend texts.
3. As you read, ask yourself these questions:
What about this book makes my heart sing?
How can I infuse those things in my own writing?
4. Take notes--write down everything you learn from each day of Reading for Research!
5. Share your ideas and insights in our Facebook group as you make discoveries!
Get ready for a great month of learning! We’re thrilled to have you with us.
First time joining this challenge. Excited and thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. As a newbie to ReFoReMO but not to using mentor texts, I am just hoping I can absorb it all an also that I can keep my writing momentum. SO psyched!
ReplyDeleteAnother tip for when you're maxing out your library card (and your husband's) with holds for ReFoReMo...bring a couple of tote bags or a backpack. Also bring your patience. Week-long quarantines for books in our area means it may take longer for books to be ready for pickup. Looking forward to a fun PB month!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this year :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this program before. I am ready for a new challenge. Please help me to get started. Do we have a zoom once a day, week or 1-2 days? Are we given a topic or a list of books? Oh boy am thrilled to be a STA member!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Rhonda Kay Gatlin I wrote the comment above. It says unknown. How do I get my name added?
DeleteHi, I signed up for the ReFoReMo experience and then went to facebook to join so that I can share my thoughts with the participants and my request was never granted. I do not have a really strong FB presence as I just have a picture of my dog and no photos etc. What should I do going forward?

ReplyDeleteFirst time I've actually signed up for ReFoReMo. Oh, the wasted years.
ReplyDeleteA nice reminder of questions to ask during ReFoReMo!
